Tax Credits:
Schedule 1299D of
the Illinois Department of Revenue income tax forms lists a number
of tax credits which may be available for a particular business.
Of particular note may be the EDGE tax credit and, in particular for
technology companies the research and development credit.

Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District
If your business or building is located in a TIF (tax increment
financing) district there may be certain financial benefits
available for your property for business. Check with your
local municipality to determine if your property is in fact in a TIF
district.
"Private TIF"
If your property is not in a TIF district but you will be doing
something to your property that will significantly add to the
taxable value of the property, you may be able to negotiate an
abatement of real estate taxes from local governing authorities.
